a little personal response / tribute to “here’s the life i’ve always longed for” by Anna Haifisch. the original means so much to me, and even though it’s hard, I feel like every day i’m making more steps toward finally being on the other side of that fence <:)
It drives me insane how many people dont realise how often they break the law and that if the full force of it was ever applied life would basically be unliveable. Like between traffic violations, petty workplace theft, account sharing and piracy alongside how common it is to have been in posession of some illegal drug at some point in your life. People still manage to get away with thinking “criminals” are people who commit crimes not just populations that are surveilled enough to be routinely prosecuted
i haaaate when iris by the goo goo dolls comes in when i’m in a store how am i supposed to act normal when you can’t fight the tears that ain’t comin or the moment of truth in your lies when everything feels like the movies yeah you bleed just to know you’re alive
